Make sure you are up to date on your vaccines. Sharing this information with your doctor will help determine which vaccines you’ll need during pregnancy. Vaccination helps protect you and your child from serious diseases. Some vaccines, such as the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine, should be given a month or more before pregnancy because live virus immunizations can infect baby with the disease. During your pregnancy, it’s recommended to get the Tdap vaccine (to help protect against whooping cough) and flu vaccine. Be sure to discuss each vaccine with your doctor before getting vaccinated.
