Did you know?

High blood pressure during pregnancy poses various risks, including decreased blood flow to the placenta. If the placenta doesn't get enough blood, your baby might not get adequate oxygen and nutrients. This can lead to slow growth, low birth weight, or premature birth. As you approach week 20, the risk of gestational hypertension or preeclampsia (a sudden increase in blood pressure) increases. Tracking your blood pressure regularly is a good way to ensure everything is going well.
