Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth. It affects around 10% of all pregnancies and can happen at any stage, but it is more common in the second or third trimester. If you're at average risk of gestational diabetes, a glucose challenge test should be done between the 24th and 28th week of your pregnancy.
