Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes the body to produce less hemoglobin than normal. Thalassemia is relatively common and can cause anemia, making the sufferer frequently feel fatigued. If you have mild Thalassemia, you might not need treatment. If you have the risk of being a carrier, consult with your doctor. You might be advised to have a genetic test for your baby before reaching week 10 of pregnancy.
