Did you know?

While many apps and videos seem educational, there is no scientific evidence that they are good for children. In fact, most neuroscientists and mental health professionals worry that screen time may be harmful to a child's development. Exposure to screens can have a negative impact on attention span and concentration, as well as appetite control. Especially in the first five years of life, children should be encouraged to physically explore the world, develop social skills, and use all of their five senses, instead of just using their eyes to play a game or their fingers to swipe a screen. Time spent playing with a tablet or smartphone is a time not spent crawling, walking, climbing, talking, and exploring the environment, all of which contribute to a child’s mental, emotional, and intellectual development.
