1 weeks pregnant
Weekly update
Even though you are technically in the first week of the pregnancy, conception does not happen until Week 2 or 3.
Because it’s impossible to know the exact moment of conception, one counts the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) as the beginning of a pregnancy. Around 40 weeks after the LMP is the natural due date.
Fertilization
Right now, conception and fertilization haven’t occurred yet. In 1 to 2 weeks, one of the developed eggs will be released from your ovaries, and it will meet with some sperm cells and be fertilized by one of them. With the fertilization, the baby’s journey to life starts.
Your development
The mother won’t notice any symptoms or changes yet because pregnancy hasn’t yet happened.
Things you can do
To encourage conception, sleep well, stay active, eat healthily, and, possibly the most important one, have sex.
Please acknowledge
We are trying to be as accurate as possible, but, especially during the first 4 weeks of your child’s life, the medical and scientific community is not quite sure what exactly happens. So, despite great progress in the last 100 years, there are still many unknowns and many mysteries to be discovered.
We, therefore, want to remind you to be mindful of the fact that the information presented might not be accurate or apply to your individual pregnancy or child.
