Did you know?
As Your Child grows, your skin is stretching and may cause abdominal itching. It is more likely to happen in the second and third trimester when you have the most growth. Do not scratch, as irritation can occur and a cycle begins. Topical creams can reduce the itchiness. Avoiding baths and showers that are too hot, which can dry out your skin, can also help. Another thing that may help is using mild, unscented lotions and soaps. You should let your doctor know about abdominal itching, since it may sometimes be associated with a more serious dermatologic condition of pregnancy, such as PUPPS.
