Before you start your search, you need a realistic expectation on what you want in a nanny. Do you just want someone who puts your kid infront of the TV, or do you look for someone who can play with little Your Child and maybe read out stories to increase her vocabulary and with that his language skills? As part of the interview process, have the candidate play with Your Child and see how she interacts with him. If you want to hire someone before Your Child arrives, request her references and call up the last 2 families she worked for find out more information about her.
